"I enjoy using the old world techniques and paint preparations popular in the time of Rembrandt. Light and shadow play an integral part in my work. The light leads the viewer around and into the piece while the shadows invite the viewer to add their own thoughts and feelings. Together, artist and viewer make the story complete."

New Works

Beverly instills in her paintings a feeling of beauty, elegance and the colorful joy of life. She is deeply inspired by the "Old Masters" and has pursued training in the classical tradition.

Great care is taken to prepare and tint each canvas. A mixture of paint and medium must be blended daily before the painting can begin. Working from an umber under-painting, Beverly uses a concept of chiaroscuro, the high-contrast light-against-dark.

Beverly enjoys painting wildlife, portraits, and still life and accepts commissions to do portraits of people or their pets.  Her work may be seen at Lagerquist Gallery in Atlanta, The Wild Eye Gallery in Evergreen and various artist shows throughout Denver and the foothills. Some of Bev's recent works may be viewed in the Gallery pages.
